'Tis true.
It was on the Beeb and averything. I heard it on Radio 4 on the way home.
I'm working on fanart to commiserate this sad day, which I'll post up here after it's finished.
But what a way to kill him! Superman dies after a long, drawn out battle with an impossible supervillain, but Cap, a symbol of American patriotism, is killed by a sniper! I love the real-life paralells! Marvel have done it again, and I'm looking to buy this issue of the magazine, 'cause you know it'll be a collector's item in the future.
This, being an important issue, is mirrored at the front of the site. |

I read in the Metro that the creator decided to kill him off because all his left wing fans wanted him "on the streets protesting against the evil of the Bush Administration" and all the right wing fans wanted him "on the streets of Bagdad, fighting Sadam". As (I've been told) he was originally created to fight Hitler, I think he'd be out there in Iraq.
Whatever really.
I also want a copy of his demise, but I'm not sure where to get it.
The thing I liked most about Captain America was the fact he carried a sheild- a symbol of defence- instead of a weapon. He was fighting to defend the weak, instead of working against personal vengences. |

| It should be easy for you to get a copy - that shop in The Village will probably sell them. I'm going to have to order one online. |
