working on updating fighters

just a note to say that I'm working on editing the fighters. So far I'm about halfway through with the heavyweights. This is a project that will take some time, and I just got back to work after 3 weeks off, so I won't have a ton of time right now (plus I've got 2-3 other similarly time consuming projects I'm working on.)

The fighter explorer is most certainly making this a more manageable task!

Bero has done most of the fighters UMS has at this moment. Maybe you and him can talk about fighters stats.

well crap, that didn't work out so well, I'm having to start over.

I was shifting around the columns in the explorer to make different ratings visible, and when I closed the sim and opened it up again, some of the columns had changed places! I'm not entirely sure exactly how that happened, but Ruben Villareal (who I gave a 20 KO resistance) was now a 20 for punching as well. Anyway, it somehow got screwed up. That might be something you want to look at, not sure if it's a bug or what.

One of two things caused it. I was checking and unchecking certain ratings so that they would disappear from the list, but I was also shifting entire columns to the left or right so that I eventually could see each column while making the fighter name visible as well.

*edit*

I just noticed that when I reinstalled the sim, the name has been added to the far right, so I will no longer need to shift anything in order to edit all ratings! Awesome!

I was playing a bit with the fighters editor but I didn't find anything wrong. You must notice that when switching off a column visibility while modifying that column value (e.g. punch) the next column (e.g. kick) take that value, but only in appearance. Once you click outside that column it will take the real value.

man, I already did a few hours of work last night (lots of work on HW and LHW, not much else.)

Wonder if there's a way to import your changes and new fighters, and then overwrite just the heavies and light heavies that I changed (which I saved to disk, as I wasn't working on my computer.)

I'm doing a fighter update this month. I've nailed down the LW divisions for Affliction, Sengoku, UFC, DREAM and Strikeforce/EliteXC missing only a few fighters, mostly unknowns/cans.

Basically, if a fighter hasn't fought in the org in '08, then I delete him from it. If he's fought in multiple orgs in the past year, I put him in the last org he's fought in (unless it's a small org I haven't created, not that common).

I'm thinking I should be finished in not too long with a complete fighter update. No more seeing Fedor listed in DREAM and stuff like that.

I'll probably create and org called "Legends" and include the likes of Rutten, Hughes, Gracie, Shamrock, Ortiz, Liddell, Fedor, Nog, Hendo, Couture, etc. when they were all in their peak.

Maybe some people could help me with a legends list? The lighter weights, it's hard to compile since they weren't as popular in MMA in the late 90's and early 00's.

The fighter update has stalled, the LW and WW divisions are nearly completely finished. I'm going to try to have the entire update finished within the next few weeks.
