I'll follow JudyB's lead & show some location pictures & maps.Very Happy
This is a picture looking down on the nest from the tree that the camera is in.

Here's a map of Santa Cruz Island which is the largest of the 8 Channel Islands.
The nest is located at Pelican Harbor which is between Twin Harbor and Prisoner's Harbor.

And here's a map of all the Channel Islands

Thanks for the pictures, Lori! I do like to get an idea of the place where the eagles are hanging out! And while we don't have that sort of detail for the Maine nest, I do have a good sense of the coast of Maine in general, so do feel as if I know what it's like around the nest. And it's very different than around the California nests, even if both are on the coast! Laughing

JudyB... Isn't it funny! We make them a new thread "all their own" and as if on cue, they show up to their nest the very next day. Laughing

Not sure where to post Steffani's update but I guess this thread is as good as any.
Sounds like one new camera is about to go online at the Twin Rocks Nest which is also on Catalina Island:

Hi everyone,
Not much going on here in Catalina this week. Pete and I have been working in the office and in the field trying to figure out our camera situation. Today we went to the West End and tried to stabilize the camera and figure out why it’s zooming in and out by itself. We removed it from the pole and placed it on the ground a bit closer to the nest so now it shouldn’t move at all but, even after several hours of figuring out cables, we still don’t know why it’s zooming in and out. We decided to turn off the zoom for now until we go back out there, which would be pretty soon.
Tomorrow we’ll begin setting up some equipment for the Twin Rocks nest. I can’t wait for you guys to see how beautiful their nest area is.

... Taken from Steffani's update on the CHIL forum

I really liked this watching this nest but the camera seemed to have alot of problems this past year...? Or it was just what program I was watching it in...? I think it always opened in WMP. Your pictures are so clear Lori - I don't ever remember the cam being that clear. I'll have to try it in the daylight...tomorrow I guess! I've been so busy lately I haven't had time to check in on all the nests!

More nestorations

Dad is off to find a stick suitable for Mom Smile

He found one but sure struggles with it and with Mom being in the way Laughing

So...Mom leaves & Dad works for awhile in peace

But... not for long. The nest inspector is back.

Off for more... They are still there working. It is wonderful to see them back. Very Happy

I was laughing my head off Marcia! Laughing
Mom is quite the character and sure keeps K10 in line.
Here's one more visit...

It's funny that these 2 never seem to talk to each other. They came into the nest quietly and left the same way. No chatter at all. The wind is loud though at the nest today.
