Dear, dear friends . . . . .
it's overwhelming to read this wonderful tribute to Froona. It's very hard for me to react right now, but know that it warms my heart.
Froona is free now, free from her gradually failing body.
Her spirit can shine bright again, no more pain and suffering.
The farewell service was beautiful, it was and is all good now.
During the ceremony a film was shown on a big TV screen, without sound. This film was made by Lambert and showed Pa and S2, sitting on the Tower, on the platform and flying, flying around.
Also pictures from previous years, the year when S2 replaced Ma and some parts from the PPS presentation she made to convince the Dutch Bird protection association that they should host the live streaming web cams, which they now do.
Froona's brother had chosen the music and it fitted the images perfectly! Coincidence? I don't think so, it must have been the understanding of Froona's life and spirit that made it happen this way.
A lot of her colleagues were there too. She was very appreciated by her co-workers and her boss.
A lot of her Falcon forum friends had come to bid her farewell. MAPI read a poem that ERNA had written and posted on the remembrance topic.
After that, I spoke, while ANITA strewed the rose petals. You were there right with us at that moment, I could feel that.
Roel took some pictures afterwards, of the coffin and the flowers:
The flower arrangement from the BCAW forum.
The colors and different flowers representing all the people, from every walk of life, united in their love for Froona and the Falcons
The heart of roses, with a picture of a Peregrine Falcon in the middle, from all the Dutch forums
The rose petals on Froona's coffin, symbolising all her friends who could not be there in person, but were present in spirit.
The white bouquet is from her brother Lex
We sat around Froona in a circle, embracing her one last time with our love and respect.
I put the petals in a heart-shaped basket, Anita left some in it and placed it at Froona's feet
The other Falcon friends placed a single rose each on and around her coffin.
Thank you for being there in spirit today, hugs Ingrid _________________ Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the

I decided to start with the things I promised again there, next to the coffin. Translating webpages.
But meanwhile I discovered a lock on Froona's Corner.
The question now is, where to put my postings.
I need remarks and advice from the "forum-jury" on the layout and/text-errors of the temporary opening-page of falcoperegrinus.nl: http://www.falcoperegrinus.nl/im.html
F11 in IE has full-screen effect, but as I have 1024 x 768 I like to know the effect on 1280 x 1024. The intention was, that you never see the red cross, when you are on te top of the pag.
Any suggestions to make the translation more realistic are welcomed.
Thx |
First...Ruud...I sent you a pm..
My resolution is set at 1680x1050....and I am seeing no red cross at the top of the page....When I use full screen, it is beautiful....we will help you with your English translation....
I noticed that you have also used High Flight by G. Magee as your opening...may I also suggest you consider the John Denver Version...which is slightly different....just let us know....
You've done a beautiful job... |

I did not know Froona like all of you but from I did know , I could picture her as the one behind the bushes looking in, and knowing that there was so much more. |
Hello Bev.
My english is not so good but I think you're right.
We, on the forum in 'de kletshoek', shared the time together while the funeral was taking place. Some people now, and I think some later, discover more about Froona's being is this world. Sorry if the words are not chosen clearly enough but Froona leaves more than only the passion of falcon peregrines (and her cats ). You all know it already but Froona was indeed a very special lady in many things.
I'm very glad with the beautiful message here from DEF.
And great the job Ruud is willing to do.
And now it's really time for me to go to sleep.
Thanks for your reaction Bev. and so long.

Thank you so much, Ingrid, for sharing Froona's service with us...from the beautiful flowers and words spoken to the music and symbolic gestures. It all sounds so lovely, just as Froona would have wanted it.
And Ruud, thank you too for your wonderful tribute to Froona and for keeping Falco Peregrinus alive. That is a beautiful gift to her and to all of us! _________________ A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. (Chinese proverb)

| BCAW Friends: Your tributes to Froona were beautiful. And have you noticed? They all have a recurring theme. Passion. Froona's passion for her cats, her falcons, and for life itself were an inspiration, and we are all better for it. Goodbye, Froona. Thank you. |

| I have never been good at words, and am so touched at reading all of these wonderful things about a lady I would have loved to have met. Many times I read information in "Froona's Corner", and was amazed at her knowledge and desire to share it. The world was certainly a better place with Froona in it. It all still doesn't seem real to me. |

What a remarkable woman was Froona--her knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, biology & how it made a falcon from beginning to end, her creativity as an artist & a writer / teacher, a devoted cat lover--all this, she willingly shared with us @ BCAW !! And yet, in one of her earlier postings, I read that she was taking a law exam !! I often wondered where that would have taken her in this world.
But much too young & too soon, she was called away ---the world has lost so much yet to learn from Froona who never stopped learning!
Hopefully, her mission in life will be carried on by Rudd, DEF & all who knew her !!
Thank you for continuing Froona's desire to teach us about her beloved Falcons !! A fitting tribute to a great lady !!! _________________ vonnie---our falcon cam in bflo is not as interesting as Harrisburg! Great job by all. |

HER JOURNEY
Don’t think of her as gone away,
Her journey’s just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
This earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
From the sorrow and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort,
Where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
And she was loved so much. |

“Thank you” seems so inadequate at a time like this when so many people have posted so many beautiful and inspiring words that have touched my heart and soul. Each and every post here is filled with such love, and each deserves thanks for the process has given us hope. When a world can come together like this . . . the feelings of hope are overflowing.
Thanks to all who shared Froona’s own words from years past – from the words introducing herself to her inspiring teachings. The various music pieces filled me with joy.
Ruud, your tribute on the web site is exceptionally beautiful. It is beyond perfection.
Ingrid, through your words and photos, I feel that I was right there with you in person. My spirit was definitely there with you across the ocean even though my physical body was here in this little space in Indiana.
skygirlblue, your opening tribute leaves me speechless. It truly touched my soul, and I am blown away.
One final “Thank You” goes to our dear, sweet Froona. You were one of a kind . . . beautiful, gifted, intelligent, patient, loving, forgiving, inspiring, and determined in your mission to make the world a better place.
Saying “I will miss you,” is a tremendous understatement. My comfort is in knowing we will meet again someday, but in the meantime, your spirit is flying free.
You have brought the world together . . . and maybe in ways you had not imagined. Or did you . . . ? |
