| Thank you Judy B for starting this thread - This is my home nest and the first that led me to so many cams - eagles, bears, storks - I do not post much - but will try to be more active with this nest - There was a nest exchange yesterday at 6:36 pm CDT at dusk and I saw one today at 5:22 pm CDT. The cam clock reflects CST. Maybe Sutton Center will adjust tomorrow. |

11:30 am 9:30 cam time Dad came in and they exchanged places. They both stood side by side for a while looking in the nest. Then dad settled down, and mom ate for a minute on the side of the nest then flew off.. Pics to follow.. _________________ Sir Lance All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten |

Thanks for the pictures, Sir Lance! I also noticed them peering into the nest, and hoped there was something interesting there to see! I haven't noticed anything that I was sure was feeding - but it looked as if Dad was bringing food to the nest for Mom, and there were a couple of times that I couldn't tell if she was reaching down just to get another bite for herself or if she was also offering a bite to a chick. I know we'll find out in a couple of weeks - but I want to know now!!
And welcome to the thread, Tulsa! It's great to have someone to provide local color, so to speak. Umm - this is the part where I confess that I haven't done my homework. Where is the nest? I'm not looking for anything too specific - just which general part of the state. Thanks! _________________ 2010 Eaglet Info |

JudyB | Quote: | | This nest is on OG&E property at Sooner Lake near Stillwater, Oklahoma. The original dead nest tree used by this pair of eagles fell down. OG&E, with technical assistance from the Sutton Center, erected an artificial tower which these eagles have adopted successfully. | From the site.. _________________ Sir Lance All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten |

Actually I did know it was near Stillwater, Sir Lance. What I didn't know is where Stillwater was - which would require going to Google or some such place and looking for a link for a map that isn't really a real estate ad - which would admittedly probably take less time than I'm spending typing this post. But I thought that Tulsa might not only be able to tell us that Stillwater is in the north-central part of the state, but might know if there are lots of lakes there or if this is some giant river we're seeing - or have some other interesting facts to add. _________________ 2010 Eaglet Info |

JudyB sorry about that..
Nest exchange at 2:30ish cam time would be 12:30ish .. Rolled eggs, settled in and pulled nest material close. There was some stick moving done too. Dad saying "we need a bigger boat" _________________ Sir Lance All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten |

| Thanks Judy for the welcome - I have driven by Sooner Lake many times many years ago - I have not been there. This is the first year Sutton Center mentioned Sooner Lake. It is located between Stillwater and Ponca City in the North Central part of the state about 50 miles south of the Kansas border. It is fed by the Arkansas River - It looks like the eagle in the nest has shifted - I think there is an eaglet or two in the nest -Or my eyes are playing tricks on me - |

CLC, wonderful pictures and video!
I'm so glad you were watching. I wanted to but had to go out for a few hours to run errands (gosh, I hate that when silly things interrupt my cam time! )

| Thank you Sherri, CLC, you are right - no eaglets - my eyes were playing tricks - I thought I saw a little fuzz at the front on the nest - It is 71 degrees right now - maybe the temp will help this incubation process along |

19th ....you mean for hatching? Hm-m, eggs were laid appx. between Feb 1 and 7. You sure about that math?.....That would be 47 days for the first one. |

Sherri Ok sorry.. I don't know why I was thinking 10th & 17th.. I stand corrected..
At 730pm cam time an eagle brought something to the nest.. Not food, then moved some sticks then they switched places. The other left. When i came back at 746 2 in nest as it got dark they both stood and put their heads in the nest. One flew off and one settled in for the nigh. Only see white head now 753CT _________________ Sir Lance All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten |
