Just thought it might be fun to see who you'd choose if you could assemble an ideal cast from all the performers who have (or haven't, why not) been in the show I have only seen a DVD of the 1982 version and listened to the OBC soundtrack... I'm interested to know how the others stack up.

Johanna: Sarah Rice
Judge Turpin: Alan Rickman (I know no-one's heard him sing the role yet, but he's a wonderful actor and I'm predicting that he'll be brilliant)
Beadle Bamford: Alex Gemignani
Beggar Woman: Rosie Ashe
Pirelli: Sal Mistretta
Tobias: Manoel Felciano

Johanna: Joanna Hickman, although I am very excited to hear Jayne Wisener, I think she'll probably be great.
Judge Turpin: Obviously Alan Rickman, mainly just because I am a Rickmaniac. Actually, I think Nigel Planer would make a pretty good Judge T. Maybe I should suggest it to him if he EVER comes out of the Wicked stage door again.
Beadle Bamford: Steve Elias.
Pirelli: I liked the guy who played Pirelli in the RFH production but I can't remember his name.
Beggar Woman: Rosemary Ashe.
Toby: No one. I would like this character to be cut from all future productions. Haha.

Sweeney Todd: The late, great Steve Barton (local production in the 90s); although I haven't actually seen/heard him as Sweeney, he was perfect in every other role I've heard him in. May he RIP.

That said, I'd also be quite happy with Larry Paxton (2006 Hawaii cast), Johnny Depp (film), Len Cariou (OBC), or Michael Cerveris (2005 Broadway revival).
